Yoga

Instructions provided regularly by our Yoga specialist. Yoga is also practiced in the classrooms in the stations independently. Yoga aids in developing concentration and focus. It also supports children to calm their bodies and minds.

Dance/movement/music

Dance is incorporated daily in the classrooms. Preschool and Kindergarten classes are offered opportunities to learn Ballroom dancing and various ethnic dancing. All children are offered their own instruments to create music. All children are exposed to a variety of music and musical instruments from around the world. Kindergarten classes learn to read music and are offered their own key board to practice.

Drama

Drama is introduced at an early stage through dramatic play/role play in all classrooms. Story telling and acting out stories that are read in the classrooms are encouraged. Preschool children are guided to sequence their stories. They are offered opportunities to act out their stories and experience the process of how an idea can materialize into a story. Kindergartners are offered many opportunities to practice all of the above. They are also encouraged to write and illustrate their stories and finally act them out. This is also part of their language and literacy curriculum.

Art

Planet Kids views art as an important part of a child’s development. Montessori style art is available to children in the art station daily. Our art specialist introduces children to various mediums and art forms. Children are free to explore various art materials and create their personal stories through art.
